MeshNetics, a leading ZigBee technology provider, unveiled its new ZigBee/802.15.4 modules at the Electronica show in Munich, Germany, on November 14, 2006. The key feature of these tiny half square inch modules is the innovative dual chip antenna design (patent pending). Because the ZigBee and 802.15.4 standards focus on low-cost, low-power wireless monitoring and controlling of electronic devices, ZigBee modems typically must be located within 100-300 feet to communicate.

reescale Semiconductor, Inc. , announced today that it is commencing tender offers for its $350 million aggregate outstanding principal amount of 6.875% Senior Notes due 2011 and its $500 million aggregate outstanding principal amount of 7.125% Senior Notes due 2014 (together, the “Notes”). In connection with the tender offers, Freescale is soliciting consents to proposed amendments that would, among other things, eliminate most of the restrictive covenants and certain of the events of default contained in the indenture governing the Notes.

National Instruments Releases LabVIEW Drivers for Wireless Sensor

National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) today announced LabVIEW drivers for wireless sensor networks, giving engineers and scientists working with these devices the ability to fully integrate their ZigBee, IEEE 802.15.4 or proprietary wireless sensors into the National Instruments LabVIEW graphical development environment. The free driver software works with sensors from three wireless-sensing leaders -- Accsense, Accutech and Crossbow Technology -- and includes communication functions and example programs compatible with sensors from each vendor.
